Senior Business Intelligence Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to join Group Finance, which acts as the Finance function for the entire Advania Group. This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding team environment where expectations are high. It is a role that would suit a high-potential professional who is looking to join an organisation where their career can accelerate.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Group Head of FP&A, supporting data analysis across a large multi-entity organisation that employs over 4,000 people internationally and generates annual revenues in excess of 1 billion GBP.

In this key role, you can expect to support the development of data-driven insights across the Group. You will work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, and operations functions to develop reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions that support decision-making.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical capabilities and past professional experience of working within data modelling, Power BI, or business analytics.

This is a truly rare opportunity for the Cape Town market. The closing date for this role is Friday 13th November 2026.

Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary for this role is between 40,000 and 50,000 ZAR monthly, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards

• Build and optimise data models using best practices

• Create DAX measures and calculations to support business reporting

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities

• Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders

• Support the automation and standardisation of reporting processes

• Assist in analysing business performance, trends, and key metrics

• Work with data from multiple sources including ERP, CRM, and other business systems

• Document reporting solutions, business logic, and data definitions

• Contribute to continuous improvement of BI processes and data governance

Qualifications & Experience

• 3 years or more of professional experience in a business intelligence or analytics role

• Bachelor's degree in a business, finance, data analytics, information systems, computer science or a related field

• Demonstrable experience with Power BI, including report development and dashboard design

• Understanding data modelling concepts and relational databases

• Basic knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M)

• Strong experience with Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis
