Position Overview
We are looking for a Citrix Technical Lead to join our Managed Services business in Cape Town.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing senior technical leadership across Citrix services, ensuring that Citrix environments are supported, improved, and governed in line with customer expectations, and the standards that Advania strives to deliver to its customer base.
Salary & Benefits
The budgeted salary for this role is between 50,000 and 65,000 ZAR per month, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Act as the technical escalation point for Citrix incidents, requests, problems, changes, and service risks across supported customer environments.
Drive effective Citrix operational performance, ensuring tickets are progressed in line with response and resolution SLAs, customer expectations, operational standards.
Provide technical leadership to Senior Technical Engineers and Technical Engineers, supporting daily prioritisation, troubleshooting, quality, standards, and capability growth.
Maintain strong Citrix service quality through accurate ticket updates, clear client communication, detailed work notes, complete resolution notes, correct categorisation, and appropriate use of knowledge articles.
Own and support complex Citrix changes, ensuring appropriate risk assessment, testing, peer review, implementation planning, rollback planning, communication, and post-change validation.
Identify and reduce recurring Citrix issues through problem management, root-cause analysis, trend review, known error documentation, and service improvement activity.
Support customer transitions, project handovers, onboarding readiness, and technical acceptance into support for new or changed Citrix services.
Create, maintain, and improve Citrix runbooks, knowledge articles, support documentation, monitoring checks, service health checks, and escalation guidance.
Support shift-left activity by identifying repeatable Citrix tasks or known fixes that can safely move to lower support tiers with appropriate documentation and training.
Promote a positive technical culture built on ownership, integrity, mentoring, collaboration, quality, customer focus, and continual improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrable professional experience in infrastructure, end-user computing, VDI, or application virtualisation roles, with at least 5 years of hands-on Citrix administration and support experience.
Proven experience operating and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, Workspace, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, VDAs, Citrix Director/Monitor, Profile Management, Workspace Environment Management, Citrix license management, Citrix policies and FSLogix.
Strong practical knowledge of Citrix provisioning and image management, including Machine Creation Services and/or Provisioning Services, lifecycle management, gold image governance, testing, rollout and rollback practices.
Strong NetScaler/Citrix Gateway knowledge, including secure remote access, authentication, certificates, load balancing, high availability, session policies, troubleshooting, and integration with Citrix environments.
Good understanding of supporting technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificates, file services, printing, Entra ID, Azure infrastructure, networking, storage, monitoring, and endpoint management.
Customer-focused communication style with the ability to explain technical findings professionally, clearly, and with empathy to customers, Service Delivery, Account Management, and internal stakeholders.
