Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic and fast-paced technology and value-added reseller organisation.
This role will be pivotal in supporting our commercial operations, with a primary focus on timely client commercial contract negotiation, as well as providing comprehensive support across all aspects of legal team activities, including supplier contract management.

The budgeted salary for this role is between £70,000 and £95,000 a year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the negotiation, drafting, and review of client commercial contracts, service schedules, variation agreements and orders (both standard and non-standard/complex) for private and public sectors, ensuring terms are commercially viable and legally robust
Assisting sales and finance teams with tender responses and ad-hoc contractual queries
Advising business stakeholders on contract risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Supporting the legal team and business with supplier contract negotiations, including drafting, reviewing, and advising on terms and conditions
Leading and managing the negotiation, drafting, and review of partner, agency, referral agreements
Reviewing and drafting non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements
Providing general legal advice to the business on a range of matters, including but not limited to data protection/GDPR, marketing matters, intellectual property, employment (including TUPE), company secretarial, property matters, intellectual property including trademarks and regulatory compliance
Supporting dispute resolution and litigation matters as required, liaising with external counsel when necessary
Qualifications & Experience
The right candidate for this role will have:
Qualified solicitor or barrister in UK with strong post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial contract negotiation
Excellent knowledge of contract law, contract management, commercial law, and relevant regulatory frameworks
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a focus on enabling business growth while managing legal risk
Knowledge of GDPR and data protection law, Company Law, Property Law, Employment Law including TUPE, Intellectual Property and Software licensing law and new legal matters related to AI and ChatGPT
Previous experience working within the technology sector or with value-added resellers would be highly beneficial, but is not essential to apply.
