Position Overview:
The Voice Engineer is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining voice services and associated infrastructure throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Secure configuration and management of Sipcom voice solutions and platforms
- Undertake project tasks as assigned by the manager and architects
- Carry out and report on project deliverables for Project Managers
- Provide escalated voice application and infrastructure support for Business As Usual (BAU) support teams
- Monitor and respond to key infrastructure alarms and metrics
- Identify risks in infrastructure or applications and report to security and/or technology peers
- Implement changes in accordance with processes and customer and Sipcom requirements
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to evaluate and create solutions for customer needs
- Implement and test backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity planning (BCP)
- Ensure that configuration is documented and knowledge is transferred to broader technology, delivery, and support teams
- Take ownership of tickets
- Maintain excellent communication with all employees, clients, and customers
- Proactively seek opportunities for improvement through automation, service enhancements, or new solutions
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience with voice technology and extensive knowledge of SIP
- Experience configuring and managing Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
- Configuration and management of PSTN integration with cloud UC platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco Webex
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple project tasks
- Knowledge of broader telephony products such as Contact Centers, PBXs, and Trader Platforms
- Ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences
- In-depth troubleshooting of voice issues using tools such as VOIP Monitor and Wireshark
Preferred:
- Scripting and automation skills; ability to identify areas for automation and develop solutions
- Knowledge of voice regulatory requirements
- Bulk provisioning of end-user devices such as Polycom and Yealink
- Professional vendor-level certifications

The salary range for this role is 55,000 - 72,000 USD gross per annum.
